The WR-CP3A-O
The WR-CP3A-O is a passive controller-routing panel. Three controller CV inputs (C1, C2, C3) each have an on/off route toggle that picks whether they reach the output bus. A fourth EXT input has its own route toggle and an attenuator knob (EL) that scales the EXT signal before it joins the sum. The four selected sources sum into three parallel FREQ OUT jacks that fan the same composite CV out to multiple destinations.
A separate passive multiple section sits on the same panel: one mult-in input feeds three identical fan-out outputs (M1, M2, M3), independent of the routing section. A trunk-line pass-through (T IN -> TRK) is a single 1-to-1 jack pair, useful as a labelled bus point in a complex patch. An additional inverted FREQ output (F-) provides a complementary copy of the routed sum for phase-cancellation tricks.
All routing is passive - hard switches and a single attenuator, no voltage control over the routes. The WR-CP3A-O is a CV switcher, a CV summer, a passive mult, and a pass-through bus all packed onto one panel.
The WR-CP3A-O
The WR-CP3A-O has five controls: three CV-route toggles (R1, R2, R3, default R1 on / R2-3 off), one EXT route toggle (RE, default off), and an EXT attenuator (EL, 0-1 linear, default 0.5). Six inputs (C1, C2, C3, EXT, M IN, T IN) and eight outputs (F1, F2, F3, M1, M2, M3, TRK, F-). The summed CV is (R1 ? C1 : 0) + (R2 ? C2 : 0) + (R3 ? C3 : 0) + (RE ? EXT * EL : 0), fanned to all three FREQ outputs and inverted on F-. The mult section runs mult-in to all three M outputs in parallel; the trunk is a direct pass-through.
In a patch
Use the WR-CP3A-O as a live-performance CV switcher. Patch a keyboard into C1, a WR-960 row A out into C2, and an LFO into EXT IN. During a performance, toggle the R1 / R2 / RE switches on and off to swap between keyboard control, sequencer control, and sequencer-with-vibrato, without re-patching cables.
The composite CV appears at all three FREQ OUT jacks simultaneously - a built-in 1-to-3 fan-out so you can drive three WR-921A drivers (or just three destinations) from one composite signal. The separate MULT section is the same idea for any other signal: patch in once, take out three identical copies. The TRUNK is a 1-to-1 pass-through, a labelled bus jack for organising a complex patch.
EXT attenuator + RE switch is the vibrato bypass patch: LFO into EXT IN, attenuator at maybe 0.2 for subtle pitch wobble, RE switch as the on/off control. Pair with the WR-CP3A-M for routing in front of a voice and mixing at the back.
Inputs
- C1 (cv) — Controller CV 1. Routed to the composite FREQ outputs when R1 is ON.
- C2 (cv) — Controller CV 2. Routed when R2 is ON.
- C3 (cv) — Controller CV 3. Routed when R3 is ON.
- EXT (cv) — External CV input. Scaled by the EXT attenuator before summing, and only passed through when RE is ON.
- M IN (audio) — Multiple bank input. Passes unchanged to M1 / M2 / M3.
- T IN (audio) — Trunk-line input. Passes unchanged to TRK.
Outputs
- F1 (cv) — Composite CV out (copy 1). Patched into a WR-921A F1.
- F2 (cv) — Composite CV out (copy 2). Second parallel output.
- F3 (cv) — Composite CV out (copy 3). Third parallel output.
- M1 (audio) — Mult output 1.
- M2 (audio) — Mult output 2.
- M3 (audio) — Mult output 3.
- TRK (audio) — Trunk line output.
Controls
- R1 — Route 1 on/off - enables C1 CV through to the composite outputs.
- R2 — Route 2 on/off.
- R3 — Route 3 on/off.
- RE — External route on/off. Enables EXT input through the attenuator to the composite outputs.
- EXT Level — External input attenuator. Linear 0-1. Sets EXT depth before summing.
