What is Synths.pw?
Synths.pw is a modular synthesis lab and learning hub on the open web. Webrack is the lab: a real modular synth that runs in your browser. The Academy is our free interactive courses, each step a custom hands-on experience with widgets, 3D scenes, and real synth audio you control. The Creator Hub (in development) is where artists, educators, and sound designers publish step-by-step courses, each step a real Webrack patch students twist alongside the lesson.
How it works
The Academy teaches synthesis by making every concept interactive. You read a paragraph, twist a knob, and hear what changed. Webrack is the modular synth you patch in: drag a module, connect a cable, turn a knob, hear sound. The module library is curated rather than exhaustive: oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, sequencers, samplers, drum voices, and effects.
How advanced is it?
Engine-grade and Eurorack-faithful. Webrack ships native ports of legendary Eurorack modules — Mutable Instruments Rings, Clouds, Plaits, Elements, Warps, and more — running the same source as the originals, not a re-implementation. The Eurorack standard is followed end to end: V/Oct tracking, control voltage ranges, gate and trigger timing, sample-accurate cable mixing.
What can you learn?
Two free interactive courses are live today. Eurorack 101 walks you from "what is a module?" through V/Oct, gates, envelopes, filters, and your first patches. Additive Synthesis builds complex sounds from pure sine waves using Fourier's theorem.
Is it free?
Webrack is free. All current Academy courses are free. Sign in with email or Google/GitHub to save and share your own patches. Some Creator Hub courses will be paid in the future.
